Frequently Asked Questions

We know that applying for your baby’s passport can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to make it simple. Below are the most common questions parents have about the process. If you need more help, we’re always just a message away!

How does BabyPassports work?

BabyPassports makes getting your baby’s passport simple. Just provide us with the required details and documents for your child, and we’ll handle the rest—preparing the necessary documents, scheduling your appointment, and guiding you through the final steps to ensure a smooth process.

Who is BabyPassports for?

We specialize in helping parents obtain first-time U.S. passports for babies and children under 5 years old. Since the passport application process changes for children 5 and older, we currently do not support those applications.

What documents do I need?

To apply for a baby passport, you’ll need:

Your baby’s birth certificate (or other proof of U.S. citizenship)

Both parents’ IDs (such as passports or driver’s licenses)

Passport photo of your baby (we’ll guide you on how to take or get one)

If you're missing anything, don't worry. We'll guide you on how to on how to obtain these documents.

How much does BabyPassport cost?

BabyPassport's service fee is $200, which covers document preparation and scheduling, making the process stress-free. All you need to do is show up to the appointment.

The government fee for a baby passport is $100, plus an execution fee of $35, and you will submit this directly as your appointment. Expedited services cost extra, and we can help you navigate expediting the process as well.

How long does the process take?

Processing times vary based on government wait times, but generally:

Standard processing: 6-8 weeks;
Expedited processing: 2-3 weeks;
Urgent processing: As fast as 24-72 hours (for qualifying urgent travel needs).
